Fireworks and bangers around the Barcelona Hotel in Frankfurt

Frankfurt/Main (dpa) – The football professionals of FC Barcelona were disturbed in their night’s sleep before today’s Europa League quarter-finals at Eintracht Frankfurt.

In front of the team hotel in the Westend district, there were fireworks on Thursday night and some firecrackers were lit, the “Hessian Broadcasting Corporation” reported, citing a hotel spokesman.

For Eintracht, the home game against Barcelona is one of the biggest games in the club’s history. According to the club, it could have sold 250,000 to 300,000 tickets. In the European Cup, full capacity utilization of the Stadtwald stadium is possible for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. The second leg will take place on April 14 at the Camp Nou in Barcelona.
