A fire completely destroyed a van in Hoogeveen last night. A few hours later it happened in Meppel, a car caught fire at the station.
The van in Hoogeveen was parked in a parking lot on Berberisstraat. The car fire was reported just after midnight. When the fire brigade arrived, the car was already on fire. After the fire was extinguished by the fire brigade, there was little left of the vehicle.
This morning around six o’clock flames came out of a car at Meppel station. This car could also no longer be saved by the fire brigade. The police have cordoned off the parking lot with the car wreck for investigation.
The police have started an investigation into the cause of the fire in both Hoogeveen and Meppel.
