Firefighters recover teenagers in canoe

The young people did not return at the scheduled time and it was therefore decided to sail up the Yser in the direction of the hamlet of De Fintele where after some time the teenagers were found. They were still a long way from their starting point when rescuers found them. The duo was sailed back to the departure point in Roesbrugge in the boat of the fire brigade and with their canoe.

Both were in good health and were only slightly thirsty when they came back ashore. The intervention attracted a lot of attention on the bridge over the Yser.
