The fire brigade had to turn out 1124 times for a house fire last year. That is 13 percent more than the 992 house fires the year before. Some causes: short circuit, flame in the pan, a fallen candle or a chimney fire.

- Breda: from 68 to 97 (+29)
- Meierijstad: from 15 to 29 (+14)
- Den Bosch: from 58 to 69 (+11)
- Bergen op Zoom: from 23 to 32 (+9)
- Heeze-Leende: from 6 to 15 (+9)
The number of fire reports fell in some Brabant municipalities:
- Valkenswaard: from 15 to 6 (-9)
- Altena: from 37 to 30 (-7)
- Eindhoven from 89 to 83 (-6)
- Woensdrecht 15 to 9 (-6)
Last year there were 9.7 fires per 10,000 homes in Brabant, which is slightly more than the national average: 9.6.
However, there are major differences per municipality. For example, the municipality of Alphen-Chaam had relatively many fires in a house: 27 fires per 10,000 houses. The fire brigade was also busy in Heeze-Leende: 21 per 10,000 houses. Both municipalities are in the national top 10.
