At the Mehringdamm underground station in Berlin-Kreuzberg, the electrical system caught fire on Thursday evening under an underground train.

The fire brigade came in large numbers, and the platform was cleared as a precaution. Nobody got hurt.

The fire was quickly extinguished with powder extinguishers. The damaged train is now in the station in the direction of Mariendorf, currently there is no train service.

Nothing can yet be said about the cause of the fire.
