The Rand Fire Department received a report of a fire in Klaverstraat around 4:30 am. When the firefighters arrived on the scene, the carport and garden house were already ablaze. The fire had also spread to the home.
The fire brigade eventually got the fire under control quickly. The house suffered mainly smoke and water damage and was therefore declared uninhabitable. The residents were unharmed. The cause of the fire is probably a short circuit in an electrical appliance.
