Fire master in Mariapeel nature reserve

The fire broke out on Wednesday morning last week and spread quickly. Fire brigade teams from Limburg and Brabant fought the flames, and received help from specialists from Overijssel who went into the area on foot to contain the fire. Defense helicopters also came to the rescue: with 156 flights by a Chinook and a Cougar helicopter, more than 750,000 liters of water were dropped on the fire.
