Fire in pizzeria in The Hague, twenty houses evacuated

In a pizzeria on the Laan van Wateringse Veld in The Hague, fire raged in the night from Friday to Saturday. About twenty homes above have been evacuated. A spokesperson for the security region said the fire has now been brought under control and the restaurant has suffered significant damage.

The fire brigade is busy airing the pizzeria and the evacuated houses. “We are looking at each home when the residents can return,” said the spokesperson, who said the fire broke out around 01.30 am. The evacuees are temporarily housed elsewhere.
