The terrace and restaurant of the Palatijn in the Sonsbeek Park were evacuated on Thursday after a fire in the extraction system. It is not known whether the restaurant will open again this Thursday.

The motor of the extractor hood had a short circuit around 1.30 pm, after which a fire started. There were flames and smoke development for a short time, according to the police.

The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire and ventilate the building.
