The passenger ship was sailing near the Brabantse Biesbosch when the fire in the engine room was discovered around four o’clock. The ship is now moored in a work harbor at Gat van de Kerksloot in the nature reserve.
The Central and West Brabant Security Region reports that the evacuation of the passengers has started. According to a spokesperson, this will be done ‘in peace and without panic’.
When all passengers have disembarked, the fire brigade starts extinguishing the fire. The passengers are taken to the home port of the tour boat in Drimmelen by boats from Rijkswaterstaat and the Rescue Brigade. There are no known casualties.
