Fire hazard in Flemish provinces reduced to code yellow | Interior

Due to the persistent drought, code orange had been in force for fire hazard in the provinces of Antwerp and Limburg since June 8, followed a week later by the other provinces in Flanders. Now that it has rained, code yellow applies everywhere again. It still entails “danger”: “Nature is becoming drier, which increases the risk of wildfire. Be careful, do not smoke in nature and forest areas and do not make fire,” the agency’s website reads.

“The recent rain has provided a strong freshening of the soil. That is why Nature and Forest is scaling down again to risk code yellow for its areas located in the province of Flemish Brabant from today 21/06,” says the emergency planning service of Flemish Brabant on social media.
