Fire destroys the farm of a well-known Emmer entrepreneur

A farmhouse on Noordeind in Emmen was largely destroyed by a fire last night. The fire probably started at the back of the farm. Several fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire, which quickly spread through the thatched roof.

The building is owned by Emmer entrepreneur Vasco Rouw, as he announced on Instagram during the extinguishing work. “To be clear: it is not the house I live in, but the house that we were going to build. It was empty.”

The entrepreneur, known for the EO program, among other things What do they do it from? says it is not clear what happened. “Luckily everyone is unhurt and no one was injured or anything. But it is wild, which is intense.”

The fire brigade used an aerial work platform to get close to the fire. After the farm was largely lost, but the situation was under control, the fire was started. That took several more hours. Noordeind street was closed all this time.
