A large fire destroyed a warehouse on the Molensteeg in Drongelen on Thursday evening. The shed housed a farm shop and caterer. No one was injured.
The fire service prevented the fire from spreading to a house and another shed on the site. Grid operator Enexis shut off gas and electricity so that the fire brigade could extinguish the fire safely. The shed was demolished with a grab crane to get to the fires.
The fire broke out early in the evening. A lot of smoke came out. The fire brigade was present with several vehicles. Fire water was taken from a nearby canal. The road on which the farm shop is located was closed for a while.
