The bedroom of a house on the corner of Van Alphenstraat and Van Mierisstraat in Tilburg was destroyed by fire on Saturday evening. The fire was discovered around 11 a.m.
“The fire service had to force the front door of the house to get in,” a 112 correspondent said. The bedroom is completely burned out. The 112 correspondent speaks of havoc.
Cats rescued
The fire is believed to have started on or near the bed. How this could have happened is under investigation. No one was injured in the fire. There was a lot of smoke, though.
Because of that smoke, the fire brigade decided to ventilate several houses in the area. Two neighbours’ cats were put in a plastic crate and taken to prevent them from ingesting too much smoke. After a while, these houses were released and the cats were allowed back inside.
