A fire at the Abel Tasmanweg in Lutjegast may have released asbestos on Sunday evening. A roof burned down, the fire brigade has started an asbestos procedure.
The Grootegast fire brigade was called to a fire around 9:33 p.m. When the fire brigade arrived on the scene, it turned out that there was a fire behind a house, where a lean-to went up in flames.
According to the resident, the fire was caused by a fallen candle. After the fire was extinguished, the fire brigade immediately started the asbestos procedure. No one was injured in the fire.
