The animal rescue team of the Westhoek fire brigade spent no less than two hours on Wednesday evening rescuing a 1,200 kilo heavy bull. The animal of farmer Johan Debruyne (57) from Diksmuide had completely sunk into a mud puddle, so deep that it even resembled a hippopotamus. “Twelve hours later and my bull would not have survived,” Johan thinks.
