A hedge has caught fire at a gas station in Weert, due to over-enthusiastic scorching weeds.
The fire on Maaseikerweg caused the necessary smoke, reports Weertdegekste.nl†

The fire started around 10:45 a.m. A gas station employee was burning weeds on the site of the gas station. Incidentally, this happened quite a distance from the petrol pumps. The hedge between the site and a house caught fire.
Self extinguished
The gas station attendant, customers of the gas station and the resident of the house immediately attacked the flames with fire extinguishers and water from a garden hose. The fire was almost extinguished by the time the fire brigade arrived.
No one was injured in the fire.
