Fire at car company in Nuland, car daubed with symbols

A fire broke out early Monday morning at the Millbrooks car company in Nuland. The fire is believed to have started outside in a parking lot and then spread to the building.

About six cars on the property in front of the company were damaged by the fire. One of the cars is defaced with the symbol of the environmental group Extinction Rebellion. The cars and the front of the building were badly damaged by the fire.

The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. Several fire brigades rushed to fight the fire. The fire was quickly brought under control.

Action group distances itself
At the end of June there was a similar action with a graffiti at a fire in Eindhoven. Three cars went up in flames on Ministerlaan and Broerelaan in Eindhoven. The fire spread to several houses. The symbols of the Extinction Rebellion action group were also sprayed on those houses.

The action group then strongly distanced itself from the graffiti and the car fires. According to the action group, Extinction Rebellion actions are peaceful and never aimed at individual citizens.
