Finland lost again in Japan

The Finnish national volleyball team suffered another defeat when they lost to Serbia 0–3 (21–25, 22–25, 22–25). The loss was Finland’s fourth in a row at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Japan.

Serbia’s offensive power was strong, and Finland could not respond to it.

In the tournament, Finland has faced only top countries in the world rankings. Finland has lost to Japan, the United States and Slovenia in its previous matches. Serbia is ninth in the world ranking.

Finland continues the tournament on Friday when it faces Turkey, which is ranked 14th in the world. Finland will play again on Saturday and Sunday, when they will face Tunisia and Egypt. Tunisia is 18th and Egypt 19th in the world list.

Finland is 28th in the world ranking.

The two best of the Olympic qualifying tournament advance to the Paris Olympics. Finland is trying to get ranking points for the pursuit of a place in the World Cup.

Finland has received one series point and three set wins from four tournament matches.
