The NATO summit in Madrid is not a deadline for a decision on Finland and Sweden’s accession to the treaty organization. However, NATO wants a solution to Turkish concerns about possible membership of the two Nordic countries as soon as possible. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this at a press conference on Sunday with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö.
