Messages can be marked with a star on WhatsApp. This makes it easy to find important messages without having to search for them in the app for a long time. TECHBOOK explains how to use the function.
Everyone has certainly received a message via WhatsApp that contains important information such as an address, a contact person, a meeting point or a telephone number. In the confusion of the many chats and messages, it is often not that easy to find the corresponding text message later. The result: You scroll through all your chats for what feels like an eternity, looking for the information you want. WhatsApp offers a simple and quick solution to this problem – the star.
Star WhatsApp messages
The star in WhatsApp is part of the basic functions and can be found in the app for both Android devices and iOS. Below we explain how you can use the function.

On iOS
1. Are you chatting with someone via WhatsApp and have a message that you can’t take your eyes off of? Press and hold the message with one finger so that it is highlighted.
2. A bar pops up that offers the user various functions such as “Forward” or “Reply”. On the far left of this bar is also the star to see.
3. Choose this one star WhatsApp marks the corresponding message as a favorite and automatically saves it in the corresponding favorites folder.
On Android
The procedure is very similar for Android devices:
1. Open the chat where you want to flag a specific message.
2. Select the message by long-clicking on it with your finger.
3. At the top of the screen, WhatsApp will now show several options on a bar, including the star.
4. Select the star and the message is highlighted.
View starred WhatsApp messages
As already mentioned, WhatsApp saves the messages marked with a star in a special folder. This allows you to access them faster.
Open folder in iOS
1. To get an overview of all starred messages, select from the WhatsApp home screen settings. On the iPhone, the settings are in the bottom right corner. The sub-item is there Marked with an asterisk.
2. To see only the messages of a specific chat, click on the name in the top bar in that chat and select the entry Marked with an asterisk.

Open folder in Android
1. To see all messages at a glance, on the WhatsApp home screen, click on the three dots at the top right of the screen and select the entry Marked with an asterisk.
2. To see only the messages of a specific chat, click on the name in the top bar in that chat and select the entry Marked with an asterisk.
