Finally there are no more net holes on the U6. But it was about time, says BZ editor Isabel Pfannkuche.

Up to now it has always been like this: from Checkpoint Charlie to Friedrichstraße station, passengers on the U6 could quickly check their mobile phones. Anyone who had not replied to a message from their friends or work colleagues by then had to wait.

Namely six long stops to Leopoldplatz. Then a short internet ray of hope! But of course only if the subway has stood still long enough.

That’s finally over now. The provider Telefonica reports: 4G in the U6!

It’s the year 2023. And in Berlin – after all, the capital and a tourist magnet – you still have to jump in the air if there’s reasonable internet reception in the subway. After all, that should be a matter of course.
