Finally back on the boards in Den Oever: “That you can go wild again, fantastic!”

With only a few days left until the premiere, the tension is rising for the members of Muziektheater Thalia in Den Oever. Three years ago they started practicing on the musical Fame. But all the restrictions due to corona brought the case to a standstill. Now it will finally happen, the try-out is on Thursday and the premiere will follow on Friday.

“The moment that you can go wild again, that you can all stand there again and that you are really a group, that is fantastic,” says Jordi Busser, chairman and player of Thalia Muziektheater in Den Oever. “You were not allowed to do much in recent years, you also want to bring what you make on stage. So it’s very nice that we can do that again.”

The next few days there will be hard rehearsals but it already sounds fantastic and the energy is palpable. “We are very close to each other. You all live up to it,” says Madelon Wolters, who plays one of the teachers in the piece. “You are very close to each other. There are also quite emotional scenes in the piece and that makes you grow very close. Very beautiful.”

“The association is very important. It is a great opportunity for people from the neighborhood to get acquainted with the theatre,” says Jordi Busser. But it also simply provides the entire municipality with a nice outing in the area every now and then.”

There are still Cards available, for Friday and Saturday it is going fast. So the pressure is on and the premiere jitters are starting to come. “Yes, it will be a busy week and we will have a lot of extra rehearsals in the near future. But it will be all right,” says Madelon Wolters. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 p.m. A matinee performance will be played on Sunday, starting at 2:30 PM.
