In the 19th Mediterranean Games held in Algeria, 4 athletes reached the finals in boxing.
In the organization held in the city of Oran, Ayşe Çağırır in the women’s 48 kilos advanced to the final by beating Tunisian Wafa Hafsı in the semi-finals. Ayşe will face Algerian Roumaysa Boualam in the final.
In women’s 54 kg category, Hatice Akbaş beat Egyptian Yomna Ayyad in the semi-finals and reached the final. Hatice matched with Montenegrin Bojana Gojkovic in the final.
Busenaz Sürmeneli beat Italian Melissa Gemini in the semi-finals in the women’s 66 kg category and advanced to the final. Busenaz will face Ichrak Chaib in the final.
Batuhan Çiftçi, on the other hand, beat Moroccan Abdellatif Zhouari in the semi-finals in the men’s 57 kilos and reached the final. Batuhan matched with Algerian Oussama Mordjane in the final.
Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, who could not play in the semi-finals due to illness, won the bronze medal in 51 kg, while Gizem Özer in the women’s 63 kg category and Samet Gümüş in the men’s 52 kg won the bronze medal in the semi-finals.
