The 45-year-old Limburger starts his third job as head coach in professional football with the ambitious number 4 in Belgium. Van Bommel, who previously worked at PSV and VfL Wolfsburg, will succeed Dane Brian Priske, who was sent away on Monday. Andries Ulderink and John Stegeman will be his assistants.
The change of trainers is Marc Overmars’ first big decision at Antwerp. Overmars was appointed technical director at the end of March.
