MTV Stuttgart gave SC Potsdam no chance and won the DVV Cup for the fifth time. It was the first major title for coach Konstantin Bitter.
When Jolien Knollema took the final jump, the anticipation at Allianz MTV Stuttgart was huge. When the ball hit the SC Potsdam field. the success was perfect. With a confident performance, the Stuttgart volleyball players won the DVV Cup final in Mannheim 3-0 (25:14, 25:19, 25:15).
MTV Stuttgart took a 3-0 lead with the first three attacks. Krystal Rivers showed her irresistible smash balls from the start. Eline Timmerman and Monique Strubbe proved their strengths in the block. SC Potsdam needed until the middle of the first set to get into the game. But the Stuttgart women were able to use their experience and their higher individual class and win the first set 25:14.

Potsdam started the second set at eye level. The Stuttgart team gained point after point, but Potsdam showed improvement especially in their reception and were now able to keep up. Rivers spectacularly refined the most spectacular rally to make it 14:11 for Stuttgart. The spell was broken. Stuttgart won the second set 25:19.
In the third set, the Stuttgart women showed off their experience. The Swabians made no mistakes and quickly broke away. Knollema then scored the last point to make it 25:15 – the rest was celebration.
Postdam lost in the final for the third time
“We are extremely happy,” said Monique Strubbe in an interview with SWR Sport. “We knew it would be a difficult game. We didn’t think it would be so obvious. It was important that we play hard and show the level we can do.” Sports director Kim Oszvald-Renkema was also happy: “This is an important title for us. And after working towards it for so long, we are really happy.”
This season it was the sixth meeting between Stuttgart and Potsdam. With now five wins and only one defeat, the balance clearly speaks in favor of the Swabians. For the SC it was the third defeat in the third final appearance in the club’s history.
