The film “Adult”from the director Mariano Gonzalez (The Globes and The Care of Others), starring Juan Minujin, Alfonso González Lesca and Sofia Gala, completed filming after four weeks in multiple locations in the city of Buenos Aires. With production of Bread Contents (“Don’t break me”, “I choose to believe”) and The Globes Films, The film is scheduled to be presented at various international festivals, to find a release date in Argentina for the second half of the year.
“Adult” tells the story of Antonio, a 14-year-old teenager, and his father Raúl, who share their days in a rented house in a quiet neighborhood of Buenos Aries. Everything changes suddenly when Raúl suffers a motorcycle accident. The young man, bewildered by his absence, is left in the care of his neighbor and is forced to assume new responsibilities. He must find ways to get money to survive and assist his father, whom he finds hospitalized. With a present full of uncertainties, there is a truth that Antonio discovers behind the accident, which he will seek to repair.
“When Mariano González called me to propose this character, I was immediately interested, because I really like the way he works. I read the script and was surprised. “It is a very well-written, simple story that says a lot in a very subtle way, in a very elaborate form of narration,” he said. Juan Minujin.
About the filmmaker Mariano González, the actor of “The Two Popes” and “The Substitute” He detailed: “The director has a very artisanal and particular way of working. He generates an involvement that is not usual: we filmed in his house, part of my wardrobe was his personal clothes, his son Alfonso is the protagonist and he is very talented. “I am interested in being able to accompany the journey and vision of a director like Mariano, in such a personal project.”
