“I’m having a little girl,” said Cage, who also immediately revealed what his daughter will be called. By her first name, Lennon Augie will be named after John Lennon, because Cage wrote the Beatles song Across The Universe calls his “favorite song ever written.”
The actor heard the song from the album let it be (1970) for the first time when he was only four years old, but still remembers being “frozen, paralyzed by the music,” he recalled. Augie is with August Coppola, Cage’s father.
Lennon Augie is the first daughter for Cage, who already has two sons from previous relationships. For 28-year-old Shibata, it is her first child. Cage and Shibata were married on February 16 last year, on the birthday of his late father. The two met in Japan when Cage was working on the film Prisoners of the Ghostland (2021).
