In the recent past Emanuele Compagno has repeatedly made himself the protagonist of unhappy outings on social media. For example, in 2020, on November 25th, the day against violence against women, he shared an article from The newspaper on an alleged “male homicide alert” and wrote: “On the day against violence against women it is right to remember that the victims are on both sides”. And in 2015, on the occasion of Halloween, she wrote: “I don’t understand what little girls dressed like sluts are doing around the country. Nor for parents to accompany their children to disturb families by ringing doorbells. Shame on you”.
His more serious reflectionBut that’s it on violence against drunken women. Commenting on an episode of Bianca Berlinguer’s show White paperwrote: “The woman was treated like a disabled person, like someone incapable. If she’s drunk she’s excused. Alcohol is an excuse for women, while it is not for men. A total deresponsibility of the woman as if she were an object incapable of self-determination”. Fanpage contacted Compagno to give him the right to reply and he said: “I am against violence against women. I have been misinterpreted. It would be absurd to believe that I wanted to speak out against the women I defend every day for work.” On the comment a White paper he said he didn’t remember exactly what he had written but that “I was probably commenting on an intervention that belittled women”, while regarding the girls dressed like sluts he said he had only commented “because he wasn’t a fan of the party at all”, in reference to Halloween. She also tried to defend herself by claiming to have “always shared posts for inclusion” and supported a series of initiatives to combat bullying. Then on his Facebook post he said: “Now that you point it out, I realize I used strong words and I apologize. However, I am not a person against women and I have always been for the defense of the weakest.”
