For now, only the duo Jeremie Vaneeckhout-Nadia Naji has announced their candidacy. For the rest, many possible candidates dropped out. “Whoever it will be, Groen must above all be combative and proud,” says Watteeuw. “Green must once again dare to fully engage in politics. We proved in Ghent that a self-confident green party can make a difference. That is the attitude that the party has to propagate every day.”
The applications at Groen must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The party will announce the candidate duos on Wednesday.
