It’s not the first time Marimekko has fought against scam websites.
Regarding Marimekko’s communication, Iltalehti is told that the company closely monitors its intellectual property rights and intervenes in many different ways when they are violated.
– Since last fall, several scam websites using Marimekko’s name have appeared under our own supervision, and our active community has also tipped us off about them.
At the moment, Finns are being scammed, for example, on the marimekko-outlet.com website, which we talked about earlier.

Marimekko says that scam websites are an unpleasant phenomenon for the company.
– Our legal department has been in contact with the site domain name registrars and site administrators as well as social media service providers to get the sites closed and the related marketing content removed, the communications department tells Iltalehti.
According to Marimekko, a large number of the scam websites that have come to the company’s attention have been closed. Instead, the marimekko-outlet.com online store is still open.
If you have already ordered products from a fraudulent website, Marimekko urges you to contact your bank or credit card company and request the cancellation of the payments made.
– You should also contact the police to file a criminal complaint, the company recommends.
