Land Open Rehearsals of the Filarmonica della Scala are the perfect opportunity to attend the preparation of major concerts scheduled at the Teatro alla Scala. And the low price of the ticket allows everyone to participate. Here’s when they are expected in the year that has just begun.
Four appointments with the Philharmonic for four non-profit organizations
There will be four appointments at which – from 7 April to 3 November 2024 – it will be possible to access. This is a special initiative. Not only because of what has been said so far, but also because they will all be concerts in favor of non-profit organizations that carry out projects aimed at combating educational poverty in the city of Milan.
Which ones are they? Don Gino Rigoldi Foundation, Mercurio Association, Children in Crisis Italy and Community of Giambellino.

Also an Extraordinary Open Test on the occasion of Remembrance Day
This thirteenth edition of the benefit Open Rehearsals of the Filarmonica della Scala (in collaboration with the main partner UniCredit) will officially kick off Sunday 17 March at 8.30pm. The musical program is fascinating: the director Matthias Pintscher, accompanied by Ilya Gringolts (among the greatest violin virtuosos) will conduct Le Chant du Rossignol by Stravinsky, Mar’eh Concerto for violin and orchestra written by Pintscher himself, Masques and BergamasquesSuite for orchestra by Fauré e La Mer by Debussy.
The four paid appointments will be: Sunday 7 April (open rehearsal directed by Myung-Whun Chung), Sunday 12 May (with the Philharmonic’s chief conductor Riccardo Chailly and the young Alexander Malofeev on the piano), Sunday 6 October (Giovanni Sollima as conductor and solo cello) e Sunday 3 November (Fabio Luisi on the podium and Imogen Cooper on the piano).
But that’s not all. On January 27th Daniel Barenboim will conduct an Extraordinary Open Rehearsal at the Milan Conservatoryon the occasion of Memorial Day and in favor of the Sons of the Shoah Association APS, whose honorary president is Senator Liliana Segre (here are the tickets).
Test tour: children and teenagers meet the musicians of the Filarmonica della Scala
As already mentioned, this initiative brings together the world of music and that of charity. And not only. Indeed, the project is enriched by the initiative Test ride. It’s about a cycle of chamber concerts with the musicians of the orchestra which allows the children and young people involved in the projects of the four selected beneficiary organizations to learn more about music.
What will happen? In the days preceding each Test, a special lesson is reserved for them by some groups of musicians from the Filarmonica della Scala.
