The Italian sportswear label Fila has announced its next collaboration. As the company announced on Tuesday, the French designer Haider Ackermann has designed a collection for the traditional brand. The joint project called “Haider Ackermann + FILA” will therefore include women’s and men’s clothing as well as accessories and will be presented on November 17th as part of a fashion show in Manchester.
The Colombian-born designer and the heritage sportswear brand may come “from opposite ends of the fashion spectrum,” but both are guided by “the same quest for authenticity and style,” Fila said in a statement.
Gene Yoon, Fila’s Global Chairman, praised the new collaboration: “I’ve always admired Haider Ackermann’s creativity. Giving him the opportunity to delve into our archives in Biella has opened up unprecedented creative horizons for the brand,” he said in a statement. “Haider Ackermann’s fashion DNA merges with Fila’s sporting heritage in a hyper-contemporary combination that represents Fila’s latest evolution to lead in the themes of sport, style and fashion.”
