Figures prove: men cause more accidents and drive less safely than women. “It’s their testosterone’s fault”

The cliché says that women are less good at driving than men, but statistics prove the opposite: they drive much safer and are less often involved in serious accidents. ‘Only’ 23% of all road deaths and 33% of seriously injured people are women. Men may drive more kilometers, but that does not appear to be the main explanation for why they make so much noise. “Men underestimate the risk and quickly think: ‘Yes, I can do that, because I’m a cool guy,’” says behavioral biologist Mark Nelissen.
