In said awards ceremony was also Luis Figo. The former player is an ambassador for the Laureus Foundation and made it clear his position regarding the debate of the best player of all timewithin which Messi is included.
“For me, Messi did not need to win the World Cup to consider him probably the best player in history“, assured Figo to the ESPN microphones.
