A fight broke out in a murder case in the Alkmaar court this afternoon. Police at the court have separated those involved.
The conflict took place around 11:45 a.m. at an interim hearing on the murder of Rodney Mijnals from Amsterdam East. The suspect who was arrested after the murder, Serginio O., 22 at the time, is said to be related to the victim.
About twenty people involved and relatives were present in the hall and in the public gallery. Tension ran high during the session. When the suspect was led out of the room, a discussion arose between him and someone in the room.
Finally, the group stormed out of the courtroom and out of the public gallery and several on the floor in the hall continued to fight.
One of the ushers managed to free one of the men. The public prosecutor also intervened and pulled the groups apart. No one has been arrested, the police reported in court to NH Nieuws. No one needed to go to the hospital.
