Fight gets out of hand: man in jail for driving into people

An Oosterhout man (18) was arrested on Wednesday evening after he drove his car into a group of local residents during an argument on Bouwlingstraat. During a fight, he got into his car and drove full throttle towards the group of people. Not much later he was caught.

The man from Oosterhout took the life-threatening action after he got into an argument on the street with a resident of Bouwlingstraat. He turned to park his car in the driveway. Because he almost hit the Oosterhouter’s car, he reacted angrily. The two got into an argument and started fighting with each other. When local residents got involved, the fight got out of hand. The 18-year-old got into his car and drove into the group. According to the police, he narrowly missed a local resident because he jumped out of the way just in time.

The Oosterhout man then fled and became the target of officers. They arrested him shortly after the fight on Schaepmanlaan. He is suspected of assault and attempted manslaughter on several people.
