Fifth former participant Temptation Island reports after complaints | show

A fifth former participant of Temptation Island has reported to victim lawyer Sébas Diekstra with psychological complaints after his or her participation in the program. The lawyer will inform the ANP of this on Monday. Former participants Aylin and Efrain told their story to this site last Saturday. Later that day, Diekstra reported having contact with two former participants of the program, so a third person is now being added.

The stories of the five former participants are similar, says Diekstra. “They appear to have been treated in a similar way and pressure was put on them.” The former participants of Temptation Island with whom Diekstra is talking have participated in different seasons of the program. The lawyer therefore expects that even more former participants will report, he says.

In addition to the former participants of Temptation Island candidates from ‘comparable TV programmes’ have reported to the lawyer ‘with very nasty experiences that left them with psychological complaints’. Diekstra is currently in talks with all former participants about whether or not to take legal action. The former Temptation Islandparticipants Aylin and Efrain previously received 30,000 euros after mediation talks, but are now also considering legal action against RTL and Temptation Islandproducer SimpelZodiak.

Diekstra expects that talks will still take place with RTL and SimpelZodiak. “Of course we write to both. There is a shared responsibility in it.” Although the production of Temptation Island at SimpelZodiak, the program is bought by RTL. “If RTL does not buy the program, then there is no program,” says Diekstra.

RTL and producer SimpelZodiak were not immediately available for comment.
