Fifth edition of Art-To-Go at Ruinen is also the last

In the year that De Wolden is Cultural Municipality of Drenthe, Art-To-Go Ruinen is experiencing its fifth edition. Also this summer, Art-To-Go will hold another pop-up art exhibition in Ruinen, but it will be the last time.

The exhibition can once again be found at the beautiful location, the Boshuijs, on the edge of the Boswachterij Ruinen. The organization is very happy that they can use this fantastic location again this year.

A good number of artists from the region have gathered to show their art. Various artistic expressions that are affordable for everyone and of which the work can be bought immediately and taken with you: after all, it is called Art to go. Painters, photographers, ceramists, glass artists and other craftsmen show that art, even close to home, is of high quality.

Latest edition

Marion Storm, Marijke van der Linden and Annemiek Echten are organizing this exhibition for the fifth time. Five years ago they started in the old town hall of Ruinen, which was still empty at the time. The aim was to give art from the region a stage and make it accessible to a wide audience. This turned out to be a good formula. About 1500 visitors visit the exhibition every year.

The exhibition will be opened on Sunday 16 July at 13:00 by Albert Haar, alderman for culture of the municipality of De Wolden. Everyone is cordially invited to attend and visit the exhibition.

Because it’s good to stop at the peak, the fifth this is also the last edition of Art-To-go. Not because the organizers don’t like it anymore or don’t support the concept anymore. Sometimes, according to the ladies, it is good to make different choices and change course. That’s what the women of Art-To-Go are going to do. For the time being, art can first be enjoyed throughout the holiday period. Art-To-Go is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00. Entrance is free.
