What is certain is that in recent weeks drones are increasingly being observed over (West) European countries, that they cause more and more unrest and that Russia is the main suspect. On Thursday evening the airport in Munich closed for hours because a drone was observed. About three thousand travelers had to spend the night on camp beds in the departure halls. Several drones have also been observed above Denmark, where European leaders are gathering this week, both above the airport and above military bases.
At the beginning of September Polish and Dutch combat aircraft came into action when Russian drones entered the Polish airspace. Since then there have been many more violations of the airspace of NATO countries-not only by drones, but also by Russian combat aircraft, for example in Estonia. The idea of a ‘drone wall’ that can detect drones and intercepting gains a lot of support in recent days.
