FIFA suspends the membership of the Indian Football Federation – Breaking Football news

The International Association of Football Associations (FIFA) has announced that it has suspended the membership of the Indian Football Federation (AIFF).

In the statement made by FIFA, it was stated that the membership of AIFF was suspended unanimously on the grounds of external interference with the independent members of the federation.

It was emphasized that the penalty in question would be lifted if the dismissed AIFF Executive Committee members in India take over the management again with the authority of an independent board.

Under these circumstances, it was stated that India will not be able to host the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held from October 11-30, as planned.

It has been reported that FIFA is in communication with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of India, and if the necessary measures are not taken, work will begin to organize the event in another country.

The board and presidency elections, which were supposed to be held by AIFF in December 2020, were postponed for various reasons and the issue was taken to the court.

The Supreme Court of India, in its decision in May, invalidated the memberships of the AIFF Executive Committee and appointed three members for the federation management.
