In the past transfer window, 4387 players changed clubs worldwide. This record comes from the official statistics of the world football association FIFA. FIFA also recorded an all-time high when it came to spending. The 1.46 billion euros are 214 million euros above the previous record from 2018.
The English clubs spent by far the most, according to FIFA it was 836 million euros. Far behind is France in second place (123 million euros), Germany is in third place with 80 million euros.
A record high was also registered for women with 341 international transfers. However, a total of “only” 720,000 euros was spent – which is still a record.
