It has been known for a few weeks that ticket prices for the World Cup are high. But there are also additional costs.
FIFA has published the prices for parking tickets for the 2026 World Cup in the USA. Because of the high prices, the world football association is receiving strong criticism. In some cases, parking is more expensive than the game ticket.
In Kansas City, fans pay $75 (around 65 euros) for a parking ticket at a group game. It is significantly more expensive in Arlington (Texas) and Miami. There, parking prices for the semi-finals or the game for third place rise to up to 175 dollars (around 151 euros). Both stadiums can only be reached to a limited extent by public transport.
FIFA has not yet published parking prices for the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (New Jersey). There is also no information yet for games in Canada and Mexico. It is also unclear how far the booked parking spaces are from the stadiums.
According to a report by the US portal “The Athletic”, buyers will only receive this information later. Although the venues, which are all home stadiums of NFL teams, have large parking areas, part of it will be closed or used for other purposes.
