While Frankfurt also won the second game of the day against SV Sandhausen, the Saxons had to settle for a draw against FC Augsburg. This narrows the gap between the two teams in the table. Only four points separate the e-athletes from RB Leipzig (53 points) from Hessen (49 points).
Apart from the long-distance duel for the division title, both teams can look back on the last double match day with ease. Due to the distance to their pursuers, both teams have already secured participation in the final tournament for the club championship.
Behind it, however, there is a dense crowd. With Karlsruhe (39 points), Sandhausen (39 points), Augsburg (38 points), Mainz (36 points), Greuther Fürth (35 points) and Hoffenheim (31 points), six teams are vying for the four open places that qualify mean for the playoff tournament for the championship.
