FIFA 22 | The new name of the football simulation has probably been decided

Since the cooperation between the game developer EA and the world football association FIFA will expire at the end of the year, fans will probably have to be prepared for a name change for the successful football simulation. An insider recently confirmed EA’s plans to rename the series to EA Sports Football Club.

For more than two decades, the American game developer EA has published at least one part of the globally successful FIFA series every year. However, since the world football association was calling for ever higher sums for the license required for this, the publisher has refrained from further cooperation.

Therefore, according to information from insiders, EA has had an alternative plan for the successor to FIFA 22 in its pocket for months. Reports about newly registered trademarks in the EU and Great Britain were already circulating last autumn.

Industry expert Jeff Grubb, a source that has often been very reliable in the past, recently confirmed that EA actually decided to use the title EA Sports Football Club.

Is FIFA releasing its own game?

At the same time, the world association seems to be exchanging ideas with other developers regarding their own football simulation. Curiously, if said talks come to fruition, a sports game called FIFA could exist by 2024 to compete with EA’s newly named title,

In the scene it is assumed that a last EA game will be released next autumn under the name FIFA. The successor to FIFA 22 should therefore appear in the usual manner before the contract between the two disagreeing games expires.

Incidentally, the world association announced that it intends to make announcements regarding new products in the area of gaming and eSports as part of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
