Year after year, newcomers and sometimes even established Bundesliga professionals surprise with unexpected leaps in performance. A look at the player ratings in FIFA 22 reveals who has surpassed all expectations this season.
For many fans, Nico Schlotterbeck represents the upcoming head of defense of the German national team. The Freiburger completed a terrific season, celebrated his debut in the DFB team and is currently apparently on the wish list for FC Bayern and BVB.
The 22-year-old was given an overall rating of 72 points by game developer EA in late summer of last year. While the Freiburg player only made it to the silver player, the rating in the next part of the series should be much higher.
Wimmer and Burkardt surprised
Patrick Wimmer from Arminia Bielefeld is also having a surprisingly strong season. The midfielder is probably the strongest player in East Westphalia at the moment and has repeatedly helped his team score valuable points in the relegation battle.
The strong performances of the Austrian recently called those responsible at VfL Wolfsburg onto the scene. Because the 20-year-old, who only has an overall rating of 67 points in FIFA 22, will switch to the wolves next summer.
Jonathan Burkardt is currently playing the season of his life. The Mainzer exudes danger in almost every game, has already scored ten goals and has become captain of the German U21 national team.
The strong performances of the 21-year-old naturally arouse the desires of numerous other clubs. However, a change in the offensive player, who only has an overall rating of 71 points in FIFA 22, has not yet been officially announced.
Nkunku matured into an international star
Many fans and experts were already aware before this season that Christopher Nkunku is a strong attacker. However, numerous impressive performances in the Bundesliga and on the international stage have catapulted the Frenchman onto the wish lists of many top European clubs.
The 24-year-old was already awarded a gold card in FIFA 22 and has an overall rating of 81 points. However, the enormous performance boost should bring the Frenchman a much stronger card in the upcoming offshoot of the series.
