Four boys hug, exuberant cheers fill a hall in London – Team Heretics has won the Team of the Seasons Cup in FIFA 22.
The TOTS Cup was last played in Paris in 2020, followed by a long Corona break. 795 days later, Spain’s Alejandro “H1dalgo” Hidalgo and Argentina’s Matías “Matias” Bonanno lifted the trophy. Heretics only gave up a single game, but won all seven series overall.

“I can hardly believe it, we got here without much preparation,” said Matias in the winner’s interview. Nevertheless: “We came with the goal of winning. We had faith in ourselves,” said teammate Dalgo.
Some of the best FIFA players in the world gathered for the first FGS major tournament in a pure 2v2 format. Heretics left scene greats like Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt, Spencer “Gorilla” Ealing and Tom “Tom” Leese behind.
German FIFA players in top eight
The German duo Dylan “DullenMike” Neuhausen and Kai “Hensoo” Hense from NEO managed to place in the top eight. In the fourth round of the lower bracket, they lost on penalties to the Spaniards of DUX Gaming.
DullenMike was satisfied: “Unfortunately we lost a tight game on penalties,” he wrote on Twitter. “Nevertheless, I’m happy with the top 8 and very proud of what we achieved today.”
