Fierce fire in Aartrijke, clothing store under apartment evacuated

Firefighters were called to the blaze around 2 p.m. this afternoon. The fire could be seen from the street, in the Brugsestraat. (continue reading below the photo)

The apartment where the fire raged is above a clothing store. It was cleared immediately.

According to the initial findings, the fire started on the terrace of the apartment. No one was hurt – no one was home either – two dogs were rescued. Two of the residents’ cats are still missing. (continue reading below the photo)

The store itself has smoke and water damage. An adjacent building was also slightly damaged by the fierce fire.
