A spicy reaction, according to psychologist Ilona. “I think this is very serious. What you see is that someone is immediately addressed about her motherhood. There is no curiosity of: how did you end up in this situation? That is often the complicated thing in situations of domestic violence.”

There is not necessarily continuous violence, explains Ilona. “There are also periods when things are going well, which means that someone regains confidence that things will be okay again. Precisely that curiosity, of: what is the reason that you stayed with him? What are the healthy elements in your relationship? And how can we make sure that the violence stops?”
