A chase of Hollywood-like proportion took place in Tilburg on Saturday morning. A police civilian car ended up in the head and the driver, an agent, had to go to the hospital. The driver of the fleeing car, a 30-year-old from Eindhoven, was arrested.

The chase started on the Verdiplein in Tilburg. The police thought that a car drove there dangerously and therefore gave the driver a stop sign. Then the car suddenly ran off at high speed. This created a police pursuit at speeds of over a hundred kilometers per hour.

The car even drove a piece, ghostly, on the cycle path on the Ringbaan-Oost. On the road the car also scored a tree and the car damaged the environment in several places on the road.

Civilian car upside down
A civilian car from the police who matched the chase hit the road in the slip. The car came upside down on a flight hill on the Ringbaan-Oost.

The driver of that car, a cop, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The chase continued on the Lovense Kanaaldijk. At the intersection with the old Lind, the car was tapped by a police car and the car came to a halt.

The driver then refused to get out. The police therefore hit a window of his car. Then the man was arrested. The man is an acquaintance of the police. “He was signaled for an open prison sentence and had run away from an institution,” the police concluded.
